LADYPRENEUR® CODE – FLOWING OR GROWING?

Have you ever scrolled through (insert social media site of your choice) and come across something that made your skin crawl?  Now don’t get me wrong, we’ve all seen our share of obscenities, vulgarities and flat out nonsense, but that’s to be expected.  I’m referring to the well thought-out, life-changing, insightful quotes that are meant to benefit you.

I ran across a quote that simply said “When it’s God, it flows…when it’s you, it’s forced.”  Excuse my language, but that’s about the biggest bunch of BS I’ve ever heard.  This person has obviously never stepped foot into entrepreneurship, or anything else that challenged them to stretch, grow, or improve him/herself.

How many times have you lost your flow and considered giving up?  Let me tell you something – as an entrepreneur, if it hasn’t happened yet, keep living because it’s coming.  I’ve considered this quote, or something like it, at least a gazillion times in the past seven years.  Does it make me weak?  No, it makes me human.  Did it stop my success?  No, it made me try harder.  For many years I lived a vicious cycle of trying and failing, then trying and failing again, only to catch a glimpse of success that encouraged me to try and fail again.  But, persistence eventually paid, immensely.

Unfortunately, this is where many entrepreneurs lose hope.  We assume that  because God gave us an idea, the implementation is supposed to flow automatically.  We think that because we were called that we won’t be challenged.  Well I have news for you, a God sized dream is going to require a God-sized effort. 

“…the race is not given to the swift, nor the battle to the strong…but time and chance happen to them all” -Ecclesiastes 9:11 NKJV

You’re going to fail, try again.  You’re going to fall, get back up.  You’re going to cry, blot your face, reapply your liner and get your butt back in the game.  If you want to get what others won’t get, you have to be willing to do what others won’t do.  It’s a part of the game baby girl.  If it’s not flowing, it only means you’re growing.  Embrace the process, now get back to it!
